A Continuum of Care Designed to be Shared

An important part of feeling confident in your senior living decision is the ability to age-in-place, especially with your special loved one. You may be wondering, “How can I find a senior living home that meets both of our needs when those needs are always changing?” At Harmony, our flexible care options and multiple care levels enable our team to respond to changing abilities or needs for individuals or couples. We offer Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care all under one roof. This makes it easier for senior couples to stay together while aging, even if they need to receive different levels of care. You will have the same Executive Director, Dining, Programming, Billing, and compassionate care associates. Regardless of you and your spouse's current care level, the same familiar faces will always be there to offer exceptional care and service. Throughout our communities, there are many amazing couples that chose Harmony Senior Services as the best senior living community to call home. With February being the month of love, we want to share a few of our favorite Harmony love stories.

Together at Harmony
Ron and Annette are a happy couple that are both West Virginia natives and currently live at Harmony at Southridge. The two met in the mid-1950’s when they were students at Alderson-Broaddus College and married at Christmastime in 1959. They have two children, Janet and Eric. In 2021, they moved to Harmony at Southridge to be near Janet in Charleston, West Virginia. Ron and Annete celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary together at Harmony this past year.

Dave and Maggie are residents at Harmony at Hershey who met in 1950 at their local movie theater where Maggie worked. Dave served in the Navy soon after from 1951-1954, during that time, they exchanged 900+ letters to each other. After leaving the service, they became engaged on Maggie’s birthday and were married less than a year later. The couple will be married for 68 years in July. What they like best about living at Harmony at Hershey is everything is taken care of, the delicious meals, the atmosphere, and everything they like to do is right there at Harmony.

Nancy and Ron say the secret to a long and happy marriage is to love one another and to keep working at it everyday. This couple met while Christmas caroling in 1955, and Nancy says it was “love at first sight”. The two have been married since 1960 and have three children, eight grandchildren, and one great grandson! Nancy and Ron have called Harmony at Brentwood home for three years.

Bernie and Barbara’s love story began at Harmony at Chantilly! The two of them both lost their partners and wondered if they would ever find love again. Through time spent together as residents at Harmony, Bernie realized Barbara was his perfect match. Barbara describes Bernie as considerate and thoughtful, who always does the grocery shopping. Bernie describes her as trustworthy and intelligent.

One Address with Many Care Levels
At Harmony, we offer senior living solutions for couples who wish to reside together even if they have different or changing care needs. Many older senior residences such as nursing homes and elder care locations struggle to cater to the evolving needs of the growing population of seniors. Joining a senior living community that offers a continuum of care gives you and your loved one living options ranging from Independent Living to Assisted Living to Memory Care. This is just one of the many reasons our residents feel the love while living in a Harmony community.
